Iraqi James Bond Junior .. 12 yr old prevents a car bomb

007A 12 year old Zain Al-Abedeen Thejeel from Nasiriya (225 miles south of Baghdad) became suspicious of a car with “strange wires” which a stranger insisted to park near Zain’s home. He sneaked under the car pulled the number plates and reported the suspicious car to the authorities. Upon inspection by police explosive experts, the car  did turn out to be packed full of explosives ready to be detonated and they managed to defuse it.

Zain Thaejeel’s bravery and miraculous unusual action was recognised by the Nasiriya Police Commander (on 17th September 2013) and the Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki (on 21st September 2013).

Another security breach and a failure on behalf of the authorities but with a HAPPY ending this time…
